Seymour is located in Jackson CountyIndiana, approximately sixty miles south of Indianapolis and fifty miles north of LouisvilleKentucky.  Established in 1816, Seymour sits at the crossroads of the East/West and North/South railroads, earning it the nickname “Crossroads of America.”  Seymour is home to a population of approximately 18,000 residents who enjoy the spectacular seasonal climate that provides the region with hot summers, cold snowy winters, and wonderfully mild weather during autumn and spring.

Opportunities for outdoor sports and recreation abound in and around the city of Seymour.  Located nearby is the Muscatatuck National Wildlife Refuge, a 7800-acre preserve that is home to a wide variety of wildlife, migratory birds, and waterfowl.  The refuge draws in excess of 185,000 visitors annually who can explore the park via nine miles of refuge roads and trails that wind throughout the forests, wetlands, and grasslands of the preserve.

Seymour hosts a number of festivals and special events each year, including the ever-popular Oktoberfest, held at various locations around the city each October.  Festival features include a bluegrass concert, biergarten, German bands, games, contests, flea market, hot air balloon race, pageants, and parade.

Conveniently situated on U. S. Route 50 near Interstate 65, Seymour’s central location provides easy access to the big city amenities of Indianapolis and Louisville, Kentucky!
